 This isn't something you'll find in an official NVIDIA document but from experience we end-users have agreed on the method listed below to reduce the risk of future headaches associated with the installation and removal of video card drivers. I'm sure many of you have installed drivers before and might ask why you would need to follow this guide to install your video card drivers, well simply put, you don't need to follow this guide, carry on about your business and be on your way.

Free software? That's nonsense! Everyone knows that there's no such thing as free software and if there is such a thing, then there's probably a catch. Who knows what kind of sacrifice you'll have to make in order to get something for free. That agreement that you just agreed to which you didn't read one word of most likely sold your soul to the devil.

So my NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX video card died on me after serving me well for over 2 years. Thankfully my card was from Evga who offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty as long as you register within 30 days of purchase.
